The European union of the shoemaker-craft (EVS) is an union of shoemaker-organizations in numerous European countries. The union troubles to lift itself, wishes and stimulations of the member countries and to coordinate. The EVS is no executive-organ. Contacts are knotted and the right addressees for the realization of the wishes of the member countries were found.

The EVS is therefore collecting point for wishes and stimulations of the member countries. The activities concluding from it must be realized from the individual countries themselves then. For wish of a member country, presidency and office of the secretary general of the EVS can care support in the framework of their possibilities with the fulfillment of wishes and stimulations.

Most important task the union is the care of the thought-exchange. The mutual meeting and understanding belong to it as well like working for main focuses and the work at solutions for factual questions. The discussion over the task designation for the following works takes place in the annual general meeting and after observation of the effects of the EU-guidelines on the member countries.

The membership in the EVS according to statute is possible for organizations of countries and regional organizations in the countries. To the transaction of the beforehand named tasks, the members pay an annual contribution at the EVS, that calculates itself from a reason-contribution as well as a sum per singles-member of the respective organization.
